Bridgeport Correctional Center History

The Bridgeport Correctional Center was opened in 1958 and in 1974, an addition called the “new center” was built to house 310 more inmates. After this, three new housing units were built in 1986 and 1992. The last renovation was completed in 1997, when the oldest part of the facility, the “old center”, was demolished.

From Hartford, CT, East

Take I-91 South to I-95 South to New Haven and then take exit 27A. Go North for about 2 miles until exit 4 at Lindley Street.
