Important Information About Connecticut Courts
Connecticut courts play one of the most important functions in the justice system. The Constitution State has seven justices on the Connecticut Supreme Court, nine judges on the Connecticut Appellate Court, and 170 judges on the Connecticut Superior Court. Connecticut Superior Courts are usually open between 8:30 A.M. and 5 P.M. Monday to Friday, except for legal and observed holidays.
What happens when a person arrested was not able to post bail at the police department?
When a person behind bars was not able to post bail, then he or she will be brought to the local courthouse the next day for arraignment. An arraignment is a court proceeding where a criminal defendant is formally advised of the charges against him or her and is asked to enter a plea to the charges.
